Carol Jan Pinkston, 74, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Carol was born Aug. 20, 1950, to Arvil and Anne (Wheeler) Lux in Kinfolks Ridge, Missouri. She married James Stanley Pinkston Dec. 14, 1969, in Poplar Bluff.
Carol was a long time and active member of First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff. She was the Worship Team Leader and served on the church board for many years. Carol retired from the VA hospital where she worked in the pharmacy for 22 years. She also worked for the family business, Pinkston Excavating. Carol enjoyed hosting family gatherings and planning church events.
Carol is survived by her husband of 55 years, Stanley; one daughter, Stacie Pinkston; one sister, Ginger (Guy) Vincent; sister-in-law, Suzy Lux; brother-in-law, Bob (Katherine) Pinkston; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sherry (Dale) Bullington; one brother, Michael Lux; nephew, Rylee Pinkston.
Gathering of family and friends will be held from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at First Christian Church in Poplar Bluff. Memorial service will follow beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Jacob Hogg officiating.
