Barbara Jones

Barbara Ellen Jones, 81, of Harviell, Missouri passed away Jan. 1, 2025, at her residence.

She was born Aug. 22, 1943, at Poplar Bluff, Missouri to the late James Harvey French and Bethel “Woolverton” French.

On Oct. 8, 1966, at Oxly, Missouri she was married to Howard Denaman Jones. He preceded her on July 21, 2023.

She was a member of the Harviell Baptist Church and had worked as a companion aid at the Neelyville School. She enjoyed selling Avon, gardening and sewing.

Barbara is survived by her children: Howard Alan Jones and wife Marie, Jamie John Jones Sr and wife Marica, Robin Jones Ellsworth and husband Joie, one daughter in law, Rebecca Kennedy; 13 grandchildren, Travis, Christopher, Brian, Jamie John Jr., Dustin, Olivia Ellen Jean, Aaron Gene, April Ellen, Tessie, Kammie, Michelle, Jerimiah, Hunter and one great-grandchild, Daylah. She is also survived by four sisters-in-law, Jeanetta Jones, Rose Marie Jones, Cathy Jones and Linda French, as well as one brother-in-law, Johnny Jones.

She was preceded by her husband, parents, one son, Gene Denaman Jones and three brothers, Sonny, Russell, and Harvey French.

Visitation for Barbara will start at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2025, with the funeral following at 2 p.m. all in the Fowler and Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Kinsey Cemetery with Pastor Troy Sisk officiating.
