Throughout his career, Mike has played a key role in ensuring the upkeep of properties, handling complex repairs, and responding swiftly to residents’ maintenance needs.”
Baugus was recently recognized for his years of service at PBHA’s annual Christmas party. He also was recognized for his years of service at the Missouri National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials fall conference in Branson, where he was presented with an award by Carol Branham, president of the group.
“We are incredibly grateful for Mike Baugus’ dedication and passion over the past 35 years,” said Matthew Allen, facility maintenance manager and Baugus’ direct supervisor. “His expertise and positive attitude have been instrumental in our maintenance department, and we are fortunate to have him as a valued member of Poplar Bluff Housing Authority. His commitment and contributions have played a pivotal role in our continued success.”
Baugus said he has enjoyed the maintenance challenges of his career.
“The Lord has guided me to repair whatever maintenance work that is required to be done,” Baugus said.
Baugus started working for the Poplar Bluff Housing Authority on Sept. 18, 1989. He began his career as a maintenance mechanic. Over the years, Baugus has worked in all aspects of the maintenance department. According to Harper, Baugus’ cheerful outlook and work ethic have contributed to a strong work legacy.
“Mike is the kind of employee every organization hopes of having,” said Rebeca Pacheco, PBHA deputy director. “He comes to work every day with a great attitude and ready to tackle the day’s challenge. We are lucky to have had him as part of our team for 35 years and hopefully for many more years to come.”
Harper added that as Baugus celebrates this remarkable milestone, the entire PBHA extends its deepest appreciation for his service and dedication.
