DAR partners with businesses for a special Valentine sweepstakes

As the days continue to fall from the calendar, time quickly marches to Feb. 14 — Valentine’s Day — and the DAR has joined local businesses to make it extra special for a lucky winner.

According to Advertising Director Heather Deering, the DAR has partnered with Rob’s Flowers and Gifts, Three Rivers College, Whitworth’s Giftchest Jewelers and the Fairfield Inn to make this a Valentine’s Day to remember.

“There is no purchase of anything necessary to enter the contest,” Deering remarked. “Basically, someone just needs to follow the link: https://semissourian.secondstreetapp.com/DAR---Valentines-Day-Giveaway, and follow the instructions. It’s only a couple of questions that need to be answered.”

The winner of the prize will receive a dozen roses from Rob’s Flowers and Gifts, a gift valued at $200 from Whitworth’s Giftchest Jewelers, two tickets to the Patron of the Arts Valentine’s Dinner & show at TRC, and a night at Fairfield Inn & Suites in Poplar Bluff.

“In order to make sure the prize goes to someone from this area, the qualifying entries are limited to individuals who live within a 60-mile radius fro Poplar Bluff,” Deering explained. “That will keep someone from California entering and winning.”

The total value of the prize is worth well over $500, organizers said. The contest ends at midnight, Feb. 10, with the winner announced shortly after.

“It’s worth a shot for anyone who wants a great Valentine’s Day,” Deering noted. “Numerous people have entered, but there is still an opportunity to win.”
