An AARP TaxAide free tax clinic will be open to seniors and low income residents, starting Feb. 6, according to Debbie Lathum, AARP TaxAide district coordinator.
It is available to residents who are 100% disabled, aged 65 or older or low income.
The effort from AARP TaxAide will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at Twin Towers in Poplar Bluff.
It starts Feb 6, and runs through April 10.
Those wanting to have taxes prepared must have an appointment, which may be made by calling 573-686-8624. “We will be doing Property Tax Credit, Federal and State returns,” Lathum said. “Those who attend will need to bring all forms of income along with proof of rent with a completed Form 5674 from their landlords for property tax credit.” Federal returns will need all forms of income W-2’s, 1099’s, Interest & Dividends.
