A proud Army veteran, Jerry, was drafted immediately after high school and sent to Seoul, Korea. Shortly after his return to the states he met and married Bobbye Jo Turner and shared many memories and the birth of two sons.

He later opened Jim and Jerry’s downtown, those who visited could always expect good company and great memories. For five years, Jerry also worked part-time at Carpet World for Dennis Young, taking pride in his work and forming lasting friendships along the way.

A lifelong fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Jerry had many hobbies that brought him joy. He could often be found cooking, playing his harmonica to the tune of “Hoochie Coochie Man,” enjoying a round of golf, or playing cards with friends and family. Known for his sense of humor, his sons will fondly remember him as a jokester who never met a stranger, always ready to bring laughter to any room.

On April 18, 2009, after five years together, Jerry married the love of his life, Nancy. Their 12 years together were filled with shared dreams, joy, and a bond that was unbreakable.

Jerry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nancy Ann McClure; and his parents, Glenn and Jamie McClure. He leaves behind his sons, Dustin McClure (Mattie) of Lubbock, Texas, Brian McClure (Tabitha) of Poplar Bluff; his daughter, Emily McGinty (Chris) of Paragould, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Logan, Blake, Summer, Ascher, Justice, Tobby, and Kendyl; and his sister, Glenda McClure Barbour of South Carolina.

Jerry’s family and friends will forever hold him in their hearts. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend, and his presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
