Dale Altom, a cherished community member from Dittmer, Missouri, passed away at 66. Known for his woodworking and love for cars, he leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication to family and faith.

Steve Dale Altom of Dittmer, Missouri was born July 7, 1958, in St. Louis, Missouri, to William Altom and Carrie L. Altom (nee Wise) and entered into rest, Monday, Feb. 17, 2052 at the age of 66 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Altom, and his siblings, the late Floyd Winslow, Ruthann Neeley, Sharon Tunstill, Pauline Morris, and Mary Locke.

He is survived by his daughter Alicia Findley of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren, Cameron Findley, Jordan Findley and Teagan Findley; and great-grandson, Colten Findley; siblings, Richard (Linda) Winslow of South Haven, Michigan; Debra Terry of Watervilet, Missouri; Robert (Lowenda) Altom of Hartfort, Michigan; June Altom of Colma, Michigan; Jeff (Stephanie) Altom of Roanoke, Virginia; Nancy (Floyd) Winslow of St. Joseph, Michigan.

Dale Altom, a beloved father, friend, and community member, passed away peacefully at the age of 66. Known for his craftsmanship, Dale found joy in woodworking, creating beautiful pieces that touched the lives of those around him. A passionate car enthusiast, he enjoyed working on and restoring vehicles in his spare time. His deep faith and love for his church were guiding lights throughout his life. Dale’s kindness, dedication to his family, and unwavering devotion to his community will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2025 at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A memorial service will be held in Michigan at Redeemer Lutheran Church 66325 M 152 Dowagiac, Michigan 49047 at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025. A memorial service will be held in Missouri at Cedar Hill Lutheran Church 8600 Silver Lane, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016 at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025.
