Delbert L. Dees of Dexter, Missouri departed this life Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis at the age of 78 years.
Delbert was born July 28, 1946, in Wilhelmina, Missouri to Delbert A. and Vern Louise Dees who preceded him in death, along with his two brothers, Linn and Larry Dees.
He went from the farm in Missouri to co-founding a large successful and well-respected construction company in California. In 1975 he met the love of his life, Mary Hennessey and she met the love of her life, and they married Jan. 2, 1982, in San Francisco, California. Mary resides in the home they built together in Dexter.
Other family members include his son, Rusty Dees of Phoenix, Arizona; two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Emily Dees of Phoenix; niece, Deborah Brady of Springfield, Missouri and her three children, Sean, Kayla, Emmett; along, with niece, Kristine, and husband, Jayson Rutledge, of Superior, Colorado and their four children, Samantha and her husband, Tim, Nate, Nolan, and Zach; along with more nieces, nephews, and cousins, with niece, Jennifer Hennessey traveling from California for the funeral. He also leaves behind sister-in-law, Kay Dees of Malden, Missouri; two aunts Mary Knott and Betty Christian, both of Washington, Missouri, and good friends in California and Missouri.
Delbert’s wish is for everyone to get along and respect those you disagree with. Delbert was of the Catholic Faith.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at Landess Funeral Home in Malden, Missouri. The funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Malden with Father Victor Anokwute officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery – Landess Addition in Campbell, Missouri.
