The April 8 election has two contested races across three Butler County school districts and the city of Poplar Bluff as filing closed Dec. 31.
For the Neelyville R-IV School District board, Matthew Marshall, Page Reinbott and Jordan Thomas all filed. There are two positions available, each carrying three-year terms. Marshall is the only incumbent of the group after Jill McGruder decided not to run for re-election.

Morgan McIntosh had filed but later rescinded her bid for the position, according to officials with the Poplar Bluff district. Roger Hanner, the current board president, filed on Dec. 31, along with Heather Rommel, Mike Moss and Lynn McCormack.
Poplar Bluff City Council incumbents Lisa Armes Parson of Ward 1 and Barbara Horton of Ward 3 both decided to run for re-election. Neither is facing a challenger..
For the Twin Rivers R-X School District, the two open board positions are being sought by incumbent Lee Wright and newcomer Robby Moore. Current office holder Bruce Goodrich is not seeking re-election.
