First baby of 2025 arrives at PBRMC: Meet Harzloe Knuckles

Harzloe Knuckles was born at 3:34 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, to be the first baby of 2025 delivered at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Harzloe, who weighed 7 pounds and 11 ounces, is the second daughter of Alexia Fuwell and Kasy Knuckles of Paragould, Arkansas.

“New Year’s day was actually my due date,” said mother Alexia. “We came in, in active labor.”

She delivered her second daughter in six and a half hours, which was less time than she spent in labor with her first daughter, Kaizllen. Her labor was 13 hours and 54 minutes when she had 26-month-old Kaizllen.

“It was definitely a lot faster process,” Alexia said.

Having the first baby of 2025 “is an exciting feeling,” she said. “It is a New Year and a new life. We are excited to take it on. We are good, happy and healthy. We are blessed and happy our family is complete. ”

Thursday morning as she was preparing to make the journey home, Alexia praised Dr. John Patty, who delivered both of her daughters. She described him as “absolutely amazing” and “worth the drive” from Paragould to PBRMC.

Alexia said her daughters’ names are a mix of family names.

Grandparents are Jimmie Fuwell of Piggott, Arkansas, Marie Vaughn of Rector, Arkansas, Benjamin Knuckles of Gainesville, Arkansas and Dana Knuckles of Paragould.

Great-grandparents are Jimmie Fuwell Sr. of Piggott and Flavia Knuckles of Lafe, Arkansas.
