Dexter man killed in collision Thursday

A Dexter man was killed in a head-on collision Thursday in Stoddard County.

The unnamed victim, age 27, was driving a 2012 Nissan Titan northbound on County Road 413. His vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2018 Dodge Citadel at 12:26 p.m., about 1.5 miles north of Dexter. He was transported to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis and pronounced dead at 9:22 p.m.

The man is the second fatality in Troop E for 2025. He was not wearing a seatbelt.

The operator of the second vehicle, a 57-year-old Bloomfield woman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau by Air Evac. She was wearing a seatbelt.
