New and remodeled construction valued at nearly $2 million saw permits in February from the city of Poplar Bluff.
This included one planned new commercial construction valued at $208,000, and six commercial additions/remodels valued at just over $1.4 million.
Permits were issued for two new residential construction projects, valued at a total of $100,000.
The city collected just over $6,100 on a total of 94 permits and licenses issued in February. This included 14 building permits, two demolition permits and 10 occupancy permits.

Ozark Border Electric Cooperative will host a first responder safety presentation from 9-11:30 a.m. April 8 at their headquarters in Poplar Bluff. It will include information on pulling meters, downed power lines, equipment in lines, pole fires and more. The deadline to register is March 25. Free AARP TaxAide clinics will be held from 8:30-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at Twin Towers in Poplar Bluff through April 10. Those wanting to have taxes prepared must have an appointment, which may be made by calling 573-686-8624. It is available to residents who are 100% disabled, aged 65 or older or low income.
