Gary Lee Cooley, Sr., 69, of Wappapello, Missouri, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Cooley was born Aug. 25, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri, son of the late Chester Elsworth and Mary Elizabeth Cooley (neé Allen).
Gary enjoyed hunting and fishing.
On Dec, 1, 1973, he married Sharon Lucius Cooley. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Matthew (Barbara) Cooley and Gary Lee Cooley, Jr., both of Paragould, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Meagan Lovell, Hadyn Cooley, and London Cooley; and one great-grandchild, Addison AnnMarie Selsor; five siblings, Leon Fush of Little Rock, Arkansas, Beverly Baker of Qulin, Missouri, Loretta Tompkins of Williamsville, Missouri, Chester Cooley of Dexter, Missouri, and Charles Cooley, Ellsinore, Missouri.
In addition to his parents, Gary was also preceded in death by two daughters, Merideth Ann and Kyleigh Elizabeth Cooley; and two siblings, Jerry Allen and Brenda Robards.
Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home, Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev Jim Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley, Missouri.
