WAYNE, COUNTY — A suspect is in custody following a shooting Tuesday evening in Wayne County.
The shooting reportedly took place at Highway 49 near Gad’s Hill. According to reports, one individual was shot and another was beaten.
According to Wayne County Sheriff Dean Finch, law enforcement was called to the scene at 5:45 p.m. Finch confirmed two people were injured.
Finch also said the suspected shooter has been arrested.
At press time there was no information regarding the motive of the shooting. Finch said the investigation has been turned over to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. No one from the MSHP was available for comment.
