Reid Morgan is the new vice president of operations and engineering for Boycom Cablevision, Inc., co-owners and founders Steve and Patricia Jo Boyers recently announced.

Patricia Jo Boyers is the company’s president/CEO.

In the press release, the Boyers said, “(We are) absolutely ecstatic to welcome Reid Morgan to our family as our newly minted vice president of operations and engineering.”

Boycom Cablevision Inc. serves Butler, Wayne and Ripley counties with broadband, cable TV and phone services. Locally-owned, it has been in operation for more than 32 years.

Morgan served as Sparklight/CableONE director of field operations and field manager from 2017-2024. Prior to that, he spent 2011-2016 with NewWave as technical operations manager.

Morgan began his career under Steve Bell II in 1998-2007 for Cablevision, then moved in 2007-2011 to NewWave as advanced/headend technician. Bell is EVP of engineering and a charter Boycom board member.

“Reid comes to us with a bucket full of experience,” the Boyers said.

It includes 26 years of education, training and experience leading up to his new position with Boycom.

With Morgan on board, Boycom is entering into a new chapter, the said.

“We are very excited about all the prospects that brings with it. Boycom has long served the rural areas of Butler, Ripley and Wayne counties, but there has always been room for improvement. Reid will facilitate that improvement, especially for our customers, who have been so loyal to us all of these years,” said Shelly Batton, Boycom’s chief operating officer, board member and 23-year veteran of Boycom.

Morgan was born and raised in Southeast Missouri.

“We are his people. He feels like he has come home, by coming to Boycom, and we have welcomed him with open arms,” Bell said. “I couldn’t be happier with his decision to join our family.”

Boycom has accomplished a lot in the past 30 years,Board chairman Angela Thurston said.

“There are many challenges to serving in these rural areas,” she said. “We have risen to many of them, but many of them still exist. Of course our team is excited to have him, but I wish that I could truly explain what he brings to our family of customers. His knowledge of the Poplar Bluff and surrounding area is second to none and his years of experience will enhance Boycom and take us to the next level.”

Boycom has quietly and methodically been enhancing the lives of rural Butler and surrounding counties, said Patricia Jo Boyers, who co-founded the company with husband Steve Boyers.

This includes providing the first fiber-to-the-home subdivisions as well as finishing the first state of the art FTTH Community in Stringtown, which is being installed now, she said.

“But there is still much to be done to bridge that #GreatDigitalDivide,” Boyers said. “Watch out Rural Southeast Missouri. Boycom is on the move.”
