Several activities are scheduled for the Butler County Fair in three locations.

Several activities are scheduled for the Butler County Fair in three locations. The Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff will host the Home Economics, Youth, Field & Forage Crops, Fruits & Vegetable and Floriculture Exhibits September 26-28. An auction is also held during the event to pay for the ribbons and prize money for 4-H and youth entering the event. This event is free of charge.

Greenway Equipment, the Missouri Association for Family and Community Education (FCE), Missouri Master Gardeners, and the University of Missouri Extension are sponsoring this three-day event. They accept entries Thursday, Sept. 26 from noon to 8 p.m. and again Friday, Sept. 27 from 7-10 a.m. Judging will follow, and the Coliseum will be open to the public from 5-8 pm. It will also be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Entry pick-up at the Coliseum will be from 1-3 p.m.

The Butler County Fair Beauty Pageant is scheduled in the Coliseum on Saturday, Sept. 28 starting at 9 a.m. Doors will open at 8 a.m. The cost to attend is $5. Following the pageant a Cornhole Tournament will be held from 2-9 pm.

The same day, the Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park will host the USA Pullers Association Tractor and Truck Pull starting at 7 p.m. Cost is $15 per person and those under 5 years are free.

On Friday, Oct. 11, a rodeo will be held at Chalk Bluff at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $15 and children under the age of 5 will get in free. To end the fair, there will be a Costume Leash March at 6 p.m. at the Downtown Dog Park.
