This weekend offers a chance to paint, as well as enjoy good food and good music.
The Poplar Bluff Library is hosting Dala horse painting class at 1 p.m. Saturday at the main branch. Dala horses are painted wooden horses originating in Sweden and the event is part of the Book in the Bluff activities.
This year’s Book in the Bluff is “Remarkably Bright Creatures.”
This and other events are leading up to a visit from author Shelby Van Pelt at 7 p.m. Sept. 10. The author visit will be held at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College campus. It includes a book signing and reception.
Westside Church is also hosting a recovery reunion potluck dinner, a Thanksgiving-style celebration, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday at their church.
The Lively Stone Choir will perform at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Westwood Center.
