A Poplar Bluff man became the third drowning victim in Missouri State Patrol Troop E this year.
According to the patrol report, Edward D. Neal, 47, of Poplar Bluff was swimming in Current River under the Current River Bridge in Doniphan on Sunday.
The MSHP report stated he began struggling and became unconscious.
Neal was transported by emergency medical services to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
