Glenda Joyce Waterman, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024.
She was born June 19, 1944, in Sikeston, Missouri, the daughter of the late Hazel (Oliver) and Lawrence Marion Wright Sr. Glenda retired from Cedargate Nursing Home in Poplar Bluff after over 35 years of dedicated service as an administrator. After her retirement, she served as a volunteer with the Disabled American Veterans, driving over one million miles for the John J. Pershing V.A. Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. She also enjoyed her days of traveling and reading was truly an integral part of her life and had a personal library of books beyond measure.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Carol Wright of Collinsville and Donna Wright of North Carolina; nieces and nephews, Christina and Stephen Fulton of Collinsville, Raquel and Billy Hoffman of Texas, Michael and Kathy Wright of North Carolina, Johnathan Fulton of Wood River and Alex Wall of Texas; special friend, Jayne Riley of Poplar Bluff; other extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Claude Darrell Wright and Lawrence Marion Wright Jr.
In celebration of her life, cremation rites will be rendered and she will be buried at The Memorial Gardens in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Burial will be at a later date.
