Rolana Grace Hunter, 80, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2024, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
Rolana was born November 24, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to Roland Templeton and Eva (Wagster) Templeton. On Oct. 12, 1974 Rolana married Lindell Hunter, in Poplar Bluff.
She enjoyed interior decorating, cooking for her family, gardening, sewing, and learning about the generations before her through genealogy; she especially enjoyed seeing the country with her husband while he was an over the road truck driver. Rolana was a nurse in Poplar Bluff for over 35 years. She was a member of Westwood Baptist Church. She adored her family especially her nieces and nephews. Rolana loved animals especially her three dogs: Charlie, Saddie, and Bandit.
Rolana is survived by her daughter, Pamela Talbot of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Lois Adler of Alden; and one grandson, Tyler Koenig. Rolana was proceeded in death by her parents, Roland and Eva Templeton; one sister, Bonnie Brady; and one grandson, Joseph Hall IV. A host of family and friends also survive.
Rolana will be laid to rest at noon Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024 at 12 p.m. at Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Poplar Bluff. Fitch-Hillis Funeral Home of Poplar Bluff is assisting in all arrangements.
