Rev. Marvin Gilmore
Rev. Marvin “Wayne” Gilmore, 76, of Little Rock, Arkansas, formerly of Broseley, MO, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024 at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mr. Gilmore was born July 19, 1948 in Essex, Missouri, son of the late Marvin “Buddy” and Opal Gilmore (née Bertholomey).
Wayne served in the United States Army for two years during the Vietnam War. He had a 23-year long career in over the road truck driving. He was also a Baptist preacher.
On Nov. 16, 1967, he married Brenda Kay Tomes Gilmore. She preceded him in death Dec. 7, 2014.
Wayne is survived by four children:, Stacy Gilmore of Wappapello, Missouri, Wes Gilmore and wife, Becky, of Douglas, Georgia, Ernie Gilmore and wife, Kathy, of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Tim Gilmore and fiancé, Colby, of Springfield, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Jessica, Hailey, Savannah, Kera, Cody, Colton, Stacy Wayne, Brandon, Jordan, and Tyler; three great-grandchildren: Athena, Lachlan, and Hazel; and three brothers: Bobby (Reba) Gilmore, Ricky (Carol) Gilmore, and Roger (Barbara) Phillips.
In addition to his parents and wife, Wayne, was also preceded in death by one son, Corey Gilmore; one grandson, Brandon Tyler Camden; and four siblings, Sam Gilmore, Billy Gilmore, Peggy Bess, and Sue King.
Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 at White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev Jim Sanders officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Brown Chapel Cemetery in Broseley.
