Officers were dispatched Tuesday, Aug. 6, to the internet cafe on Highway 142 in reference to an assault. An employee stated the suspect threw a CO2 pistol at another subject, striking the wall of the business and causing damage. The suspect was identified and a probable cause affidavit was sent to the prosecuting attorney.

Officers were dispatched Tuesday, Aug. 6, to 927 Kendall St. in reference to stealing. The victim stated a white male came to the porch and stole some cleats and a shirt. The suspect has not been identified.

Officers were dispatched Tuesday, Aug. 6, to Sixth and Pine streets in reference to a traffic accident. While en route, officers were advised the driver of one of the vehicles involved fled the scene on foot. While talking to Victoria Wilson, 30, of Ellsinore, she allegedly continuously gave false information about the subject driving and his name. During the investigation, officers discovered the name of the suspect. Wilson was taken into custody for hindering prosecution, refusal to identify as a witness, and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. Wilson was lodged in the Butler County jail. A probable cause affidavit was complete for the male suspect and sent to the prosecuting attorney.

Shai Hathaway, 30, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Tuesday, Aug. 6, on an active city warrant. Hathaway posted bond and was released.

Officers were dispatched Tuesday, Aug. 6, to 2001 Alice St. in reference to stealing. The victim stated the residence had been broken into with several house hold items taken, along with tools and wiring. At this time, no suspects have been identified and the investigation is ongoing.

Torry Stevenson, 25, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody, processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Joseph Glass, 54, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Tuesday, Aug. 6, for an active warrant through Butler County, as well as suspicion of stealing and trespassing, after it was discovered he walked through an employee entrance to Haffy’s and took two beers. Glass was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.
