Melvin Fraction, 60, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:46 a.m. Sunday, July 28, at Bomgaars during a shoplifting investigation. Fraction was booked for stealing and false impersonation. Fraction was also booked on a Probation and Parole warrant for a probation violation (no bond), a Butler County warrant for possession of a controlled substance (bond $20,000), a Taney County warrant for a probation violation (no bond), and a Poplar Bluff warrant for stealing (bond $500). Fraction was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Amanda Vinson, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:33 p.m. Sunday, July 28, at the Bread Shed during an assault investigation. Vinson was booked on the charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in the Butler County jail. An additional suspect was also identified and the case was referred to the Butler County prosecutor’s office.

A 2021 Kawasaki motorcycle was towed at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 28, during a traffic stop on South Westwood after it was determined the motorcycle was not insured. The driver was issued a traffic ticket.

Velma Puckett reported at 9:43 p.m. Sunday, July 28, her barbecue grill was stolen from the 1300 block of North 10th Street.

Officers responded at 11:15 p.m. Sunday, July 28, to a domestic assault on Oak Street. The suspect will be issued a summons.
