Two people were injured, one seriously and one reportedly with minor injuries, in a three-vehicle accident at 5:54 p.m. Thursday on U.S. Highway 67, three miles north of Neelyville, according to Missouri Highway Patrol reports.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as a northbound 2014 Chevrolet Sonic crossed the centerline and struck the towed unit of a southbound vehicle.
The Sonic was driven by Jennifer N. Vollet, 40, of Poplar Bluff.
Angel Carranza Salazar, 43, of Little Rock, Arkansas, was driving a 2007 Toyota Tundra with a towed unit attached.
Vollet then struck a 2023 Ford Explorer Interceptor driven southbound by MSHP Sgt. James Wilson, 49, of Poplar Bluff.
Emergency medical services transported Vollet to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries while Wilson was taken by a patrol car. Wilson was treated and released with minor injuries.
The three drivers were wearing safety devices.
Trooper J.C. Johnson, along with major crash investigative unit 4’s Sgt. J.M. Weadon and Trooper L.E. Hughes, are investigating.
