This week’s MAIN EVENT offers two opportunities to view early fireworks shows, as well as updates on Rock the Country.

This week’s MAIN EVENT offers two opportunities to view early fireworks shows, as well as updates on Rock the Country.

Rock the Country kicks off Friday and Saturday at Brick’s Offroad Park. Both days will offer music from a variety of artists. The theme Friday will be “duck calls and overalls,” and Saturday, “party in the USA.”

Camping starts Thursday. Jason Aldean will perform Friday and Kid Rock on Saturday. Camping wraps up Sunday.

Tickets rang from $237-$389, with additional fees for parking and camping.

For those looking for something more budget-friendly, free events will be offered at Wappapello Lake and Poplar Bluff.

Visitors can enjoy a movie in the park Friday at the Spillway Recreation Area and fireworks Saturday will be visible across Wappapello Lake. Both events begin at dusk.

First Church of God of Poplar Bluff invites everyone to its Independence Day celebration starting at 4 p.m. Sunday. The day will include activities, food and live music. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
