New coffee competition is coming to town with the planned opening of a Ziggi’s Coffee franchise in the fall of 2024.
Construction is set to begin this summer. The 865-square-foot store will be located on Oak Grove Road and will feature a drive-through.
According to Brianna Cortez, a public relations representative for Ziggi’s, “Our local franchise owners selected our Poplar Bluff location because they identified a demand for a coffee establishment in their hometown. They believed that the north end of town was an ideal location to introduce a Ziggi’s Coffee.”
Due to the location’s early stage of planning, Cortez was unable to provide specific figures for the number of workers the franchise would employ.
“We are always looking to add jobs to the local economy with the opening of each of our locations,” she stated.
While Ziggi’s started as a small coffee shop in Longmont, Colorado, in 2004, the brand currently boasts 86 locations across 18 states according to the International Franchise Association.
The new store in Poplar Bluff comes amid the company’s aggressive nationwide expansion effort. According to a Ziggi’s press release, the brand targeted South Dakota, Wyoming, New Hampshire, Maine, and Missouri with seven new stores and nine franchise contracts signed in the first quarter of 2024.
Poplar Bluff’s shop will mark the fourth Ziggi’s in Missouri.
