Lonnie Kirby, 76, passed away May 14, 2024 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. Lonnie was born Nov. 20, 1947 to Olen and Evelyn (Harris) Kirby in Poplar Bluff He married Glenda (Vineyard), she survives. Lonnie served his country in the Marines, where he did two tours of duty in Vietnam while participating in over 20 campaigns. ...

Lonnie Kirby, 76, passed away May 14, 2024 at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Lonnie was born Nov. 20, 1947 to Olen and Evelyn (Harris) Kirby in Poplar Bluff He married Glenda (Vineyard), she survives.

Lonnie served his country in the Marines, where he did two tours of duty in Vietnam while participating in over 20 campaigns. He later retired from the Mingo Job Corps as an automotive instructor. The best job he ever had was being Lonnie Pa. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Lonnie is survived by spouse, Glenda Kirby; sons, Austin Kirby (Kristy) and John Kirby (Chrissy); sister, Iva Heil; granddaughters, Hein Brooke (Jake) and Morgan Stucker-Phelan (Rusty); grandsons, Connor Kirby and Ethan Pollard, and four great-grandchildren: Lucas, Jace, Amelia and Rhett.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents: Olen and Evelyn Kirby.

There will be a graveside inurnment at 2 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, at City Cemetery in Poplar Bluff with full military honors. Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
