Officers were dispatched Thursday, May 9, to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in reference to a combative patient. A patient had struck a security guard and a nurse before being retrained. The suspect was transported to behavioral health. Neither party wished to pursue charges.

Officers were dispatched Thursday, May 9, to the 100 block of South Eighth Street in reference to a burglary. The resident stated when they arrived home, the front door was forced open. Several items were broken and stolen. There are no suspects at this time.

Nicholas Austin, 33, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Thursday, May 9, at Walmart in reference to active warrants for his arrest. Austin had warrants through Butler County and Vernon County. Austin was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

A subject reported a lost or stolen phone Thursday, May 9, at the front desk of the station. The victim stated they last saw it inside their residence. The victim did not know their phone number, make or model of the phone, nor could they provide a serial number. This case is inactive.

John Catt, 40, Poplar Bluff was taken into custody Thursday, May 9, for shoplifting from Menards. Catt was processed and released to emergency medical services for medical reasons.

Jeremy Stallings, 44, Jeremy Stallings was taken into custody Thursday, May 9, during a traffic accident in which Stallings struck a light pole. During the investigation, Stallings was showing signs of impairment. Stallings admitted to smoking marijuana prior to driving. Stallings was processed and released with a court date.

A report was made Thursday, May 9, that a juvenile was harassing another juvenile via Snapchat. The report is forwarded to the Butler County jail.
