Poplar Bluff police made contact Monday with two men believed to be suspects from a car chase.
Corning, Arkansas, police engaged in a high-speed chase northbound on Highway 67 early Monday morning, which ended when the suspect vehicle crashed in Poplar Bluff. One occupant was arrested, Nathaniel Garrett, 21, of Florissant. Three others escaped on foot.
Lt. Josh Stewart said officers contacted two individuals who matched the suspects’ general descriptions on Monday afternoon at a local hotel. PBPD collected their information and forwarded it to the Corning Police Department. Neither subject was taken into custody, Stewart stated, because, “It will ultimately be Corning’s decision of whether to submit for charges.”
The men were from the St. Louis area and “neither could provide a valid reason for being in the Poplar Bluff area,” Stewart added.
