Officers were dispatched Thursday, Feb. 22, to Clare Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Both subjects were separated and one left residence. Neither party wished to pursue charges.

Officers responded Thursday, Feb. 22, to the 500 block South Ninth Street for a wellness check. The subject was transported to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Officers were made aware on Thursday, Feb. 22, of a post on social media involving threats with a gun. Officers made contact with the juvenile and his guardians and this case has been referred to the Juvenile Office.

Tyler Cannon, 33, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Thursday, Feb. 22, in a traffic stop on 10th Street in relation to an assault. Officers responded earlier to the 2300 block of Kentucky Avenue and informed the victim went to a residence she and Cannon shared to retrieve her belongings. The suspect began arguing with the victim and drug her out of the house. The victim gathered her belongings and left. Witnesses said they observed Cannon slash all of the victim’s tires while the vehicle was parked on Kentucky. Cannon was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Daniel Engle, 35, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Thursday, Feb. 22, in 2100 block of North Westwood Boulevard for littering. Officers were called to the scene in reference to littering and made contact with the Engle, who was sitting on the sidewalk. They instructed him to gather his belongings. While doing so the suspect opened a package of Ritz crackers and threw the wrapper on the ground, refusing to pick it up. After several attempts to get the suspect to pick up the trash, he was arrested and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded Thursday, Feb. 22, to First Midwest Bank in reference to a stolen vehicle. They learned the bank had repossessed a 2002 GMC Envoy and the owner, Russell Stover, asked to get property out of the vehicle. Stover got in the vehicle and left. He was located and arrested at Jay’s Corner Store on Friday, Feb. 23, but said another person, Misty Wallace, had stolen the vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle at 505 Oak Street with Wallace still in the driver’s seat. Wallace was placed under arrest and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers were dispatched Thursday, Feb. 22, to J.C. Penny in reference to shoplifting. Employees described the suspect and stated they concealed several items and left the business without attempting to purchase them. This investigation is ongoing.

Officer made contact Thursday, Feb. 22, with the victim of an assault at the front desk of the Poplar Bluff Police Station at 911 Shelby Road. The victim’s mother advised on Jan 6 an adult male assaulted her juvenile daughter, causing injury. Attempts to contact the suspect were unsuccessful. This case was referred to the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.

David Berry, 30, of Poplar Bluff was arrested Thursday, Feb 22, on a probation and parole warrant during a traffic stop. He was held on a $20,000 cash only bond. Two other occupants of the vehicle were identified as Joseph Coleman, 52, of Doniphan and Jacquelyn Young, 37, also of Doniphan were arrested on drug charges. They were lodged in the Butler County jail.
