A non-profit in need of a property may find what they need at 59 Half Moon Road.
The price? Just one dollar.
According to real estate agent Micah Staggs, Trammell and Son Realty was randomly assigned the property by Freddie Mac after foreclosing the property.
Uniquely, Freddie Mac instructed for the property to be sold for $1.
However, the land must be sold to a registered 501(c) charity or a municipality.
A Facebook post by Trammell and Son detailed examples such as a community center, charity, or social service agency.
Staggs relayed that the house on the property is in very poor condition. She speculated the home could be renovated but would be at the buyer’s discretion.
The house is located on a dead-end cul-de-sac just south of Poplar Bluff.
The neighbors are, “ready to see something happen with this property,” according to Staggs.
As stated in a letter from Freddie Mac, selling the home so cheaply is part of the organization’s, “continued efforts to stabilize communities.”
Staggs affirmed her excitement over her role in selling the home. Interested 501(c) buyers can contact her at 573-820-3787 to see if they qualify.
