A teacher reported a student being intoxicated Monday, Jan. 29, at the Poplar Bluff High School. The parent was contacted and school district notified.

Officers were dispatched Monday, Jan. 29, to the 1900 block of Greenwood in reference to a violation of ex parte. The suspect was no longer on scene and contact was made with the victim. Information was sent to the prosecuting attorney’s office.

Menard’s reported Monday, Jan. 29, three subjects were stealing from the business. Descriptions were given and an investigation ensued. Kimberly Callow and Christopher Feller were contacted and taken into custody for the thefts. They were processed and lodged in the Butler County jail. Both subjects also had active warrants for their arrests.

Shanea Brown was contacted Monday, Jan. 29, at a scene of a fire in the 800 block of Henderson. Brown had an active warrant through the city of Poplar Bluff. Brown was taken into custody and released on her own recognizance.

Officers responded Monday, Jan. 29, to the 600 block of West Pine in reference to a subject trespassing on the property. The subject was discovered sleeping in an industrial air conditioner unit. A trespass affidavit was completed on the suspect.

It was reported Monday, Jan. 29, a subject was involved in a leaving the scene traffic accident. The victim stated he was struck by a vehicle and it then left the scene. The victim gave a description, however, no license plate information.

Officers were dispatched Monday, Jan. 29, to Walmart in reference to a shoplifting/burglary. While there, contact was made with Kathleen Morey. Morey was observed by loss prevention staff concealing items inside the store. Morey then placed her child on top of the stolen merchandise and attempted to leave the business without paying. Morey was contacted and taken into custody. Morey was processed and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers were dispatched Monday, Jan. 29, to the 900 block of Henderson in reference to a lost or stolen firearm. The victim reported a pistol missing from the nightstand in the bedroom of the residence.

Louesa McCollum was taken into custody Monday, Jan. 29, during a traffic stop at Main and Harper streets. The vehicle McCollum was operating was stopped due to the plates displaying a 2013 expiration date. During the stop it was discovered McCollum had an active warrant through Clay County, Arkansas. Drug paraphernalia and controlled substances were located as well. McCollum was taken into custody and lodged in the Butler County jail.

An Employee of Tan-n-Time reported a theft Monday, Jan. 29. The investigation is ongoing.

Officers were dispatched Monday, Jan. 29, to the Dollar General (Pine Street) in reference to a shoplifter. Contact was later made with Brittani Knapp and was issued a citation and another suspect was possibly identified.

Mathew Levart reported a burglary at 10:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Bluff Storage on Highway 53. Levart advised his storage unit was broken into Jan. 22 and his motorcycle was stolen. There was video of the incident.

An employee of Sterling Bank reported Tuesday, Jan. 30, that a counterfeit $50 dollar bill had been passed at a local business.

An employee of the Poplar Bluff Junior High School reported at 12:23 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, a student had been in possession of marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia. The items were seized and destroyed and the matter was referred to the juvenile office.

A black 2008 Dodge Ram truck was towed at 3:33 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, during a traffic stop on South Broadway after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. The driver was issued traffic tickets at the scene and released.

Francisco Heredia-Hicks, 37, of Poplar Bluff was booked 4:38 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on an abandoned motor vehicle (bond $100) and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Stephanie Wicker reported at 5:16 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, a vehicle struck her vehicle while she was traveling on Main Street. The suspect fled the scene.

Walter Painter, 33, of Neelyville was arrested at 11:09 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, during a property damage investigation at a residence in 1600 block of Wilson Street. Painter was booked on a Wayne County warrant for a probation violation (bond $442.50) and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Lance Whitehorn, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:33 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, at Probation and Parole. Whitehorn was booked on a Dexter warrant for a traffic violation (bond $640) and lodged in the Butler County jail.

A manager of the Dollar General on East Pine Street reported at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, a shoplifting at the business. A summons for stealing and a trespass notice were issued to Jamie Hardesty and she was released at the scene.

Jennifer Kline, 41, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31, during a crash investigation on Westwood Boulevard. Kline was booked on the charges of DWI, no proof of insurance, and no driver’s license and released on summonses.

Zackery Zepeda, 24, of Illinois was arrested at 1:57 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, during a property damage investigation at the United Gospel Rescue Mission. An employee at the mission advised Zepeda asked him to call 911. While the employee was speaking to Zepeda, the employee closed the door to the Mission. Zepeda then kicked the window beside the door causing damage to the window. Zepeda was booked on the charge of property damage and lodged in the Butler County jail.

David Simpson, 39, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:48 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, during a trespassing investigation in the 2100 block of Wood Street. Simpson was booked on a probation and parole warrant for a parole violation (no bond) and lodged in the Butler County jail.
