An employee at the Probation/Parole Community Supervision Center reported at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, a client used a urine delivery device to submit a false sample for drug screening.

Officers assisted an officer with U.S. Probation/Parole at 11:23 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, with a home visit at a residence in the 400 block of Short A Street. Drug paraphernalia found in the residence was seized and placed into evidence.

Kristie Jones, 29, of Doniphan was arrested at 1:32 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at Academy Sports at 3001 Oak Grove Road. Jones was booked in on charges of stealing and possession of a controlled substance. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Dereck Darlington, 52, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:53 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, in the 500 block of South Ninth Street. Darlington was booked in on charges of assault fourth degree and peace disturbance. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at J.C. Penny reported at 4:46 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, two male suspects stole jewelry Dec. 15 valued at $863.80 from the store. The theft was captured on video and the investigation continues.

Ronnell Murphy, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:14 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, at a residence in the 1100 block of Main Street. Murphy was booked in on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on shoplifting ($1,000 bond). He was lodged in the Butler County jail.
