An employee at Poplar Bluff Alternative School on North Main Street reported at 10:52 a.m. Friday, Dec. 15, a juvenile female student shouted obscenities and threatened other students in a classroom. The suspect was released to a parent and the matter was forwarded to the Juvenile Office.

A white 2012 Hyundai Elantra was towed from the scene of an accident on North Westwood Boulevard at 12:44 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. The driver was released at the scene and traffic citations were mailed to their residence.

Jesse Thurner, 36, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:34 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, in the 800 block of Park Street. Thurner was booked on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, a Butler County warrant for dangerous drugs and a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on assault. He was held at the Butler County jail.

License plates reported stolen in November were recovered at 6:43 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, from a vehicle parked in the 100 block of West Victor Street. The plates were seized and later returned to the registered owner.

An employee at Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood Blvd. reported at 10:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 15, an adult female stole merchandise from the store. The suspect was released pending review by the Butler County prosecutor.

A juvenile suffering a medical emergency was brought to the police department at 12:15 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16. The victim was taken by ambulance to the emergency room for evaluation.

Tyler Allen, 22, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:33 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, at Walmart Supercenter. Allen was issued a summons for stealing and released at the scene.

An employee at Bomgaars at 2235 N. Westwood Blvd. reported at 4:44 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, two white males stole cordless tools valued at $959.96 from the store. The theft was captured on surveillance video.

Officers responded at 7:31 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, to a residence in the 2700 block of Lakeside Drive for a report that a juvenile male threw a tantrum during an argument with a parent. The matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

An adult female reported at 7:40 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, her boyfriend held her against her will for several days at her residence in the 1000 block of Cole Avenue. Floyd Williams, 39, of Poplar Bluff was arrested in the 1100 block of Vine Street. Williams was booked on charges of second-degree kidnapping, third-degree domestic, resisting arrest, and making a false report, plus a Pemiscot County warrant for first-degree burglary. He was held at the Butler County jail.

Stacy Dushuanack reported at 9:08 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, a neighbor confronted her at her residence in the 400 block of North G Street and directed threats and obscenities at her family. A criminal summons was mailed to the suspect.

Aaron Ornelas, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 1:20 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at a residence in the 1300 block of Nooney Street. Ornelas was booked on a San Bernardino, California warrant for a weapon offense and held at the Butler County jail.

Sonya Bishop, 31, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 4:52 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, in the 600 block of South E Street. Bishop was booked on a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on no insurance and released on bond.

A black 2013 Infiniti passenger vehicle was towed from a traffic stop at 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, on Tremont Street after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. Driver James Kearbey, 37, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic citations and released at the scene.

Melissa Kirby, 37, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:29 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, at her residence in the 800 block of Sanders Street. Kirby was booked on a charge of third-degree domestic assault and held at the Butler County jail.

Vinetia Samel reported at 11:31 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, her boyfriend assaulted her at their residence in the 800 block of Franklin Street. The suspect left before the police were called.

Officers responded at 1 a.m. Monday, Dec. 18, to a residence in the 1200 block of Maud Street for a domestic disturbance with shots fired. Occupants of the residence denied the report.
