__BUTLER COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT__
Butler County firefighters spent two hours fighting a structure fire at 12:06 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 188 County Road 512.
The seven county firefighters used 250 gallons of water to put out the fire in Donald Salings’ home’s crawl space, according to county fire reports.

An employee at Save-A-Lot at 451 Highway 53 reported at 7:58 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, a white female stole merchandise from the store. The theft was captured on surveillance video.

An employee at Mid Continent Nail reported at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, metal and electrical equipment were stolen from trailers on the property.

Brenda Curry reported at 11:07 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, her adult son assaulted her at their residence in the 900 block of Mulberry Street.

Keith Rice reported at 2:02 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, someone broke into his rental property in the 800 block of Butler Street and damaged the HVAC and breaker box.

Gregory Dodd reported at 3:02 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, his son-in-law assaulted him during a confrontation at his residence in the 600 block of Carolyn Drive. No injury was reported and no charges were filed.

An employee at 10 Box reported at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, a white male stole merchandise and let the store in a black sport utility vehicle.

Timothy Williams, 59, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, at a residence in the 1100 block of Cole Avenue. Williams was booked in on a Warrick County, Indiana, warrant for failure to appear on resisting arrest and a McCracken County, Kentucky warrant for probation violation. He was held at the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 9:48 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the 800 block of Poplar Street. One party left the residence and no charges were filed.

Pamela Blackwood reported at 10:57 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, her red 2016 Kia Soul was stolen from her residence in the 800 block of Foley Street. The stolen vehicle was seen at 12:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 7, on the parking lot at Save-A-Lot at 451 Highway 53. When officers approached the vehicle, it left the lot, and the officers pursued it through the south end of Poplar Bluff until it broke through a gate on Bedoll Street. After striking the gate, the occupants abandoned the vehicle and escaped on foot.
