__Poplar Bluff Fire Department__
Poplar Bluff firefighters responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian at 8:49 a.m. Monday, Nov. 27 at 100 N. Main St.
According to Battalion Chief Kevin D. Edgar’s report they arrived to find Poplar Bluff police with the subject, who reportedly had been struck by a vehicle in the parking lot. The firefighters left when Butler County EMS arrived.

Firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 6:24 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, at North Seventh and Kinzer streets.
Battalion Chief Kevin D. Edgar’s crews found an attended leaf fire burning near the address. They checked for a building fire, but did not find anything. The person burning leaves was advised of the ordinance against burning leaves after dark. The homeowner used his water hose to extinguish the fire.

Capt. Bradley Jones reported fire crews responded to an alarm sounding at Kids Corral Child Care Center, 2337 N. Main St., at 5:32 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28. No fire was showing upon arrival. An employee with a key arrived 10 minutes later. Firefighters checked the building and no issues were found. The alarm was unable to be reset and the system was taken out of service until repairs were made.

Lt. Andrew Fox reported crews were dispatched at 1:02 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, to 3001 May St., but were informed en route it was a false alarm and to disregard. One crew disregarded while the other crew arrived at the scene and found nothing showing. Employees stated they were testing the alarm and forgot to take it out of service.

Capt. Toby Tuggle reported at 7:18 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, firefighters responded to an unauthorized burning at 301 Vaden St. They found the occupant burning leaves raked earlier in the day. Tuggle advised of the burning ordinance and extinguished the fire.
