FISK — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a one-vehicle accident at 7:43 p.m. Tuesday on Highway 60, one mile west of Fisk.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jessie W. Clayton, 29, of Gideon was operating a 2017 Ford Escape eastbound when it struck an abandoned trailer in the road, then ran off the road and into the median.

Clayton suffered serious injuries and was taken by Air Evac to Regional One Health in Memphis, Tennessee, while a passenger in the Escape, Sarah E. Williams, 20, of Gideon sustained moderate injuries and was taken by EMS to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.
