Jessica Mierisch, a receptionist for the Cardiovascular Institute of Southern Missouri, has been announced as Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center’s newest BEE Award winner, the hospital announced in a press release.

“Jess is always positive and we are very glad to have her on our team,” said Baley Robinson, who is Mierisch’s director.

The BEE Award recognizes team members outside of nursing and coincides with the DAISY Award, which honors nurses. The BEE Award was created because, just as in nature, bees are loyal and hardworking. The bee cannot exist without the daisy and the daisy cannot exist without the bee.

Mierisch was nominated by her peers, who describe her as “one of the first people to greet patients when they walk through the clinic door. She helps daily with a large patient volume while keeping a smile on her face. She is efficient and patients constantly report that she helps them better understand their insurance and helps them fill out their paperwork while being friendly with a positive attitude.”
