This week’s MAIN EVENT features music, science and much more.
The Rodgers Theatre in Downtown Poplar Bluff will host Solid Walls Of Sound: The Elton Elton John Tribute and Dr. Fever and The Venus Flytrap at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Solid Walls of Sound, which performs in Branson, reproduces the songs of Elton John and presents them in a high-energy stage show. They will co-headline the event with Dr. Fever and the Venus Flytrap. Tickets are $17.
Also, Three Rivers College will host its fall concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center. Students and community musicians will take the stage together for this free annual concert.
For those looking for something a bit different, the Poplar Bluff Municipal Library Main Branch will host Science Sunday from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This children-oriented event is about the James Webb Space Telescope and the images it takes. They will also be making a model of the telescope.
The library’s main branch also will host holiday card making from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday next week. People are invited to come make a card and donate a card to a nursing home resident.

— Thanksgiving bake sale fundraiser, 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 18 WHERE Back Forty Market, 4827 West Blvd. COST Free to attend. WHAT Come out and buy some great baked goods for Thanksgiving and do some Christmas shopping in one stop. Event sponsored by Hearts For Rescue, a foster-based rescue group who takes in dogs and puppies without homes.
— International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day, noon-2:30 p.m. Nov. 18. WHERE Three Rivers College, Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center, Room 108. COST Free. WHAT International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day is an event in which survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experience.
