Jeremy Wethington reported Wednesday, Nov. 1, at 11:52 a.m. a contractor hired to replace his roof stole $2,500 given to him for the purchase of materials.

Officers responded at 12:05 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, to a residence in the 800 block of Kinzer Street for a drug overdose. EMS administered Narcan and the victim improved. The victim was taken by ambulance to the emergency room.

Lisa Stetson reported at 2:04 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, someone spray-painted a message on her residence in the 600 block of Cherry Street.

Officers responded at 4:26 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, to a fight in the 300 block of North G Street. The two adult females involved said the fight started after one filmed the other at a school bus stop. Neither party wanted to press charges

Officers responded to the intersection of Park and Fifth streets at 6:49 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, for a vehicle abandoned in the roadway. The blue 2007 Ford Focus was apparently disabled after it struck the concrete wall of the Fifth Street overpass, according to police reports. The vehicle was towed from the scene. Owner and driver Cacedric Vencent, 25, of Poplar Bluff was contacted at his residence and issued tickets for no license plates, driving without a license, and no insurance.

Kobe Grogan, 19, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 9:16 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, during a traffic stop on Lester Street. Grogan was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on resisting arrest and released on bond.

A gray 2014 Dodge Charger was towed from a traffic stop on Lester Street at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. Driver Miranda Chaffin, 40, of Qulin was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.

Brenda Lyons, 41, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:56 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1, on South Sixth Street. Lyons was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on shoplifting and an additional charge of possession of a controlled substance. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

A black 2007 Ford Edge was towed from a traffic stop on Westwood Boulevard at 2:47 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, after it was determined the vehicle was not insured and the registration was expired. Driver Fredrick Coleman, 25, of Poplar Bluff was issued tickets for expired registration and no insurance and released at the scene.
