Yuriy V. Tarasyuk, 38, of Davenport, Florida, was arrested at 9:41 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Stoddard County on suspicion of misdemeanor DWI (alcohol) and careless and imprudent driving. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.

William E. Mathews, 42, of Campbell was arrested at 10:03 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, in Dunklin County on a Dunklin County felony warrant for possession of a controlled substance. He was booked at the Dunklin County jail.

Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Robin Street at 1:49 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, to help EMS gain access to a patient on the floor inside. The victim was helped up and refused medical assistance.

An employee at Poplar Bluff Middle School reported at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, a student threatened to shoot other students on the playground. The suspect was released to a parent and the matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Belinda Shubert reported at 2:51 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, her husband struck her with his truck in the driveway of their residence in the 600 block of Abbott Street. The suspect left before the police were called.

Officers responded at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, to the parking lot at McDonald’s at 550 Highway 53, for an adult male suffering a mental health crisis. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation.

Officers responded at 6:50 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, to a disturbance in the 400 block of North B Street, where a gunshot was allegedly fired. No injury or damage was reported and no charges were filed.

Dillon Dice reported at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, his car was struck by a blue Dodge Caliber driven by a white male while it was parked in the 400 block of North 10th Street. Dice spoke with the driver before he drove from the scene.

A silver 2002 Chevrolet Suburban was towed from the scene of a traffic stop on North Westwood Boulevard at 9:41 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 24, after it was determined the vehicle was not registered or insured and the driver had no license. Driver Genaro Rivera, 43, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.
