Three people were injured in a two-vehicle accident at 6:38 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 67 and Township Line Road.

According to the report, Kevin G. Henderson, 58, of Poplar Bluff was operating a 2013 Kia Sorrento northbound when it failed to yield to a southbound 2020 Chrysler Pacifica operated by Cora G. Ross, 34, of Poplar Bluff.

Ross’s Pacifica hit the side of Henderson’s Sorrento, according to the report.

Ross and a 5-year-old boy in her vehicle sustained minor injuries in the crash, while a 3-year-old boy in her vehicle sustained moderate injuries. All were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 56-year-old woman sustained minor injuries in a two-vehicle accident at 12:25 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, on County Road 413, one mile north of Dexter.

According to the report, John W. Hill, 46, of Advance was operating a 2014 Ford F-150 southbound when the trailer it was towing became unhitched and struck a northbound 2017 Chevrolet Equinox operated by Leotis Aikens, 78, of Malden.

A passenger in the Equinox, Felicia Love, 56, of Malden, was taken by ambulance to SoutheastHEALTH in Dexter.

Carl A. Lodge, 35, of Ellington was arrested at 10:51 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, in Reynolds County on suspicion of first-degree assault, Reynolds County warrants for failure to appear for DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, possession of marijuana and obstructing police, and a Carter County felony warrant for obstructing police. He was booked at the Reynolds County jail.

Veronica M. Brown, 27, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 11:31 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on suspicion of felony leaving the scene of an accident. She was released.

Eric R. Kime, 41, of Wappapello was arrested at 4:08 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Madison County on suspicion of DWI and operating a utility vehicle on the highway. He was released.

Wendy S. Danford, 46, of Dexter was arrested at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, in Stoddard County on suspicion of DWI with a person under the age of 17 in the vehicle and careless and imprudent driving. She was released.

James L. Tracy, 27, of Doniphan was arrested at 7:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, on suspicion of DWI and a Clay County, Arkansas, warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense. He was released.

An officer at Probation and Parole at 1441 Black River Industrial Park Road reported at 11:48 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, an adult male left a threatening message on her cell phone voicemail.

The National Instant Background Check System (NICS) reported at 12:40 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, a firearm transfer was denied at Walmart Supercenter at 333 S. Westwood Blvd. A check of the purchaser’s criminal history and Missouri Court records revealed no criminal convictions or pending cases that would prevent the purchaser from buying or possessing a firearm.

Daniel McCoin, 62, of Harviell was arrested at 2:36 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, at Touch of Class Salon at 2043 N. Westwood Blvd. McCoin was booked on a Butler County warrant for assault and lodged in the Butler County jail.

City Hall received complaints Friday, Oct. 20, that homeless persons were camping along the banks of Black River inside city limits. The suspects were contacted individually and warned camping without a permit in city limits was a ticketable offense.

Mersadies Alcorn and Billie Hussman reported at 4:04 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, an adult male acquaintance stopped in the 500 block of Karen Drive and struck each of each of them in the head.

An employee at Wyatt’s Auto Sales at 420 Highway 53 reported at 4:11 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, a motorcycle was taken from their lot on or about Sept. 11. The employee reported he saw the missing motorcycle pull into apartments in the 400 block of Highway 53. The stolen motorcycle was recovered from the parking lot at the apartments.

Travis Stieferman reported at 5:03 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20, he left $40 change at a self-checkout at Walmart Neighborhood Market. When he returned the cash was missing.

A silver 2003 Mercury passenger vehicle was impounded and towed from a traffic stop on Park Street at 3:06 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, after it was determined the vehicle was not insured and the driver had no license. Driver Antonio Seals was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.

Victoria Breeze, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:12 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, on Spring Street. Breeze was booked on a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on passing a bad check and charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

A black 1994 Chevrolet van was impounded and towed from a traffic stop on Fairmount Street at 8:19 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, after it was determined the vehicle was not insured and was not registered properly. Driver John Gray, 35, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic tickets and released at the scene.

Dennis Ray, 50, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:58 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, at his residence in the 2300 block of Leonard Drive. Ray was booked on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 10:09 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, to a residence in the 1500 block of North 10th Street, for a report of shots fired into the residence. No injury was reported, but the house and a car parked in the driveway were damaged by the gunfire. The victims were unable to provide any information.

Officers responded at 10:57 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, to the 1900 block of South Broadway for a medical assist. They found an adult male who was severely impaired by drugs and alcohol. The subject was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Officers responded to the area near the intersection of Peach and North C streets at 12:01 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, for a report of male subject shouting that he had been shot. Witness accounts suggested there had been shots fired in the 300 block of North C Street, and that the victim possibly left the scene in a private vehicle.

Angelete Sanford, 30, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 2:32 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at her residence in the 300 block of North C Street. Sanford was booked on a Butler County warrant for stealing and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 11:16 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22 to a residence in the 1700 block of Wilson Street, for a report of an adult female suffering a mental health crisis. The victim was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

An employee at Wyatt’s Auto Sales at 420 Highway 53 reported at 11:19 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, a white male stole a white 1995 Dodge pickup from the lot. A trailer attached to the truck struck two other vehicles on the lot and was wedged between them. The suspect disconnected the trailer and left in the truck.
