Anthoney P. Burton, 51, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Butler County on a Butler County warrant for failure to appear for driving while revoked and on suspicion of driving while revoked, no insurance and no valid plate. He was booked at the Dunklin County jail.

Jeremy C. Schmidt, 30, of Dexter was arrested at 11:45 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Stoddard County on a Stoddard County felony warrant for receiving stolen property and on suspicion of felony driving while revoked or suspended, felony resisting arrest or interfering with arrest, failure to drive on the right side of the road, display of possession of a fictitious driver’s license, failure to stop at a stop sign, no seat belt and failure to place vehicle as far right as possible when not in motion. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail.

Corey J. Rushing, 29, of Dexter was arrested at 8:02 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, in Stoddard County on suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.

Stephanie Knoppe reported at 10:48 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, someone broke into a property in the 1000 block of Emma Street and spread paint on floors, walls and a window.

An employee at Larry Hillis Dodge reported at 12:11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, they received a counterfeit $100 bill.

The National Instant Background Check System (NICS) reported at 3:52 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, a firearm transfer was denied at East Side Pawn at 447 E. Pine St. Review of the applicant’s criminal history revealed prior convictions were expunged, and no further action was taken.

Sharon Clements reported at 3:44 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, prescription medication was missing from her apartment in the 2000 block of Greenwood Drive.

Kevin Romine reported at 4:05 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, someone broke into his residence in the 2000 block of Snider Street. The suspects left before officer arrival, and the theft was captured on a RING camera system. A pistol and a game console were stolen during the burglary. A white male later tried to pass a check drawn on Romine’s account.

Raymond King reported at 4:39 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, hogs running loose from a residence outside city limits damaged his property in the 1700 block of Saxon Street.

Officers responded at 6:22 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19 to Walmart at 333 S. Westwood Blvd., for a shoplifter. The suspect fled the scene, and was taken into custody on Vine Street. Miguel Cooper, 33, of Poplar Bluff was booked in on charges of stealing and resisting arrest and he was released on criminal summons.

At 8:37 p.m., Cooper was arrested during a traffic stop on West Pine Street. Cooper was booked on Poplar Bluff municipal warrants for failure to appear on stealing and property damage and lodged in the Butler County jail.

A white 2017 Kia Forte was impounded and towed at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, from a traffic stop on Lester Street after it was determined the vehicle was not insured. Driver Alisha Inman, 35, of Poplar Bluff was issued traffic tickets for expired registration and no insurance. She was released at the scene.

Curtis Williams reported at 1:22 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, his mailbox was stolen from his property in the 1800 block of Alice Street by three juvenile males. Williams recovered his mailbox from a property in the 1900 block of Alice Street. The theft was captured on video.

Adolph Gallegos, 49, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 3:37 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, during a traffic stop in the 700 block of North Westwood Boulevard. Gallegos was booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Casey’s General Store at 599 E. Pine St. reported at 4:16 a.m. Friday, Oct. 20, an adult male suspect trespassed on store property.
