A pedestrian was seriously injured last night after being struck by a car in east Poplar Bluff. Timothy J. Johnson, 62, of Poplar Bluff was walking on the roadway at US 60 and North E Street at 7:43 p.m. Oct. 26 when he was struck by a southbound car. A pedestrian was seriously injured last night after being struck by a car in east Poplar Bluff.

Timothy J. Johnson, 62, of Poplar Bluff was walking on the roadway at Pine Street and North E Street at 7:43 p.m. Oct. 26 when he was struck by a southbound car. The Poplar Bluff Fire Department responded to the scene. A report by Battalion Chief Stacy Harmon stated firefighters found Johnson lying in the westbound lane when they arrived. They redirected traffic and rendered first aid while Butler County EMS was en route.

Johnson was transported to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The vehicle was a 2015 Nissan Centra operated by Jessica E. Bishop, 45, of Poplar Bluff.

The Nissan received moderate damage and was removed by Rushins Towing. PBFD cleaned the roadway and cleared the scene.
