A 60-year-old Campbell man was killed in a one-vehicle accident at approximately 6:12 a.m. Friday in front of Ozark Border Electric Cooperative.
Pedestrian Cecil L. Thacker was struck in the roadway by a 2003 Chevrolet Astro Van driven by Lester W. Knox, 42, of Naylor, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Thacker was pronounced dead at the scene by Butler County Coroner Jim Akers.
According to the MSHP, Knox was traveling northbound when he struck Thacker, who was in the roadway.
MSHP crash team investigated the crash about 6:30 a.m. near 3281 S. Westwood Blvd.
Poplar Bluff firefighters also responded to the scene.
Thacker was the 58th fatality in Troop E this year.
