Four people were injured, one seriously, in a one-vehicle accident at 11:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, on Highway 153, three miles north of Parma.

According to the report, Monica M. Mendes, 19, of Kennett was operating a 2019 Dodge Charger southbound when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Mendes suffered serious injuries, while a passenger, Terry A. Johns, 32, of Malden, sustained moderate injuries. Both were transported by Medic One to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Additionally, two juvenile male passengers, ages 3 and 4, sustained moderate injuries and were transported by private conveyance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

A 76-year-old man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident at 3:12 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, on U.S. Highway 67, 10 miles north of Poplar Bluff.

According, Oscar S. Davis, 76, of Quincy, Illinois was operating a 2020 Kia southbound when it ran off the left side of the road and overturned.

Davis was transported by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

Michael D. Cureton, 34, of Advance was arrested at 5:26 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in Stoddard County on suspicion of misdemeanor DWI (alcohol), resisting arrest and speeding. He was booked at the Stoddard County jail on a 24-hour hold.
