Sheila Capper
Sheila Ann (Skaggs) Capper, 73, of Poplar Bluff went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023 at her residence with family by her side.
Sheila was born Aug. 14, 1950, to Granville (Eddie) and Betty (Griffin) Hanks, in St. Louis, Missouri the oldest of five children.
On March 21, 1970 she married Elmer Ray Capper.
Sheila is survived by her mother: Betty Hanks of House Springs, Missouri; her children: Tammie Bumpus, Carl Capper; son-in-law, Robert Bumpus; three granddaughters: Maria Powell, Brianna Capper and Zhoe (Princess) Bumpus; two great-grandsons: Leo Capper and Lance Hancock, all of Poplar Bluff; three sisters: Sandra Bunch of House Springs, Vickie (Larry) Atherton of St. Louis, and Fawnya (Bob) Harris of Pevely, Missouri; one brother: Eddie (Janey) Hanks of House Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Elmer Capper, her father Granville (Eddie) Hanks and her precious baby girl Lauren Elizabeth Capper.
Sheila enjoyed collecting cow decor, watching the History Channel (Swamp People), eating Chinese food, playing games, working puzzles, cooking with her Princess Zhoe, visiting on the phone with her mother and sisters and spending time with family, friends and her little dog Cujo.
Visitation will be held from noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 30, 2023 followed by a Celebration of Life Service and Burial, (Pastor Josh Reasons officiating) all to be held at Kern’s Chapel Church, Stringtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Sheila’s honor to Kern’s Chapel Church.
