A Dudley man was killed and a Malden man was seriously injured in a pair of weekend crashes in Southeast Missouri, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Noah B. Rushing, 22, of Dudley died Sunday in a truck crash north of Dudley, while David A. Reeves, 57, of Malden was seriously injured in an ATV accident west of Malden.

According to the MSHP, Rushing was operating a 2000 Freightliner northbound at 11:53 a.m. Sunday on Highway WW, three miles north of Dudley, when it ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, ran off the left side of the road and struck an embankment.

Rushing was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:41 p.m. by Stoddard County coroner Brent Stidham. He is the 52nd fatality in Troop E this year.

The MSHP reports Reeves was operating a 2005 Suzuki LT-Z400 ATV eastbound at 4:20 p.m. on County Road 118, three miles west of Malden, when it ran off the road and struck a ditch.

Reeves was taken by helicopter to Regional One Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
