Jeremy and Amanda Wethington reported at 4:28 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, their juvenile son assaulted his older brother. The matter was referred to the Juvenile Office.

Wilbur Blackman, 51, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:07 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, on Poplar Street. Blackman was booked on charges of trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia, a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on a charge of possession of a controlled substance and a Probation and Parole warrant for parole violation. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Joseph Smith, 34, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 6:43 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, in the 200 block of Walnut Street. Smith was booked on a Cape Girardeau County warrant for failure to appear on property damage and lodged in the Butler County jail.

Caylee Amlong reported at 7:53 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, her boyfriend assaulted her during an argument in his vehicle.

Officers responded at 9:53 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, to the 1900 block of South Broadway for a report of an adult female suffering a mental health crisis. The victim was taken to the emergency room for evaluation.

Chad Rushin reported at 1:42 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, he was assaulted by an adult male acquaintance at Poplar Bluff Motorsports Park at 1989 Speedway Drive. The suspect was contacted and said he struck Rushin in self-defense after Rushin started a fight at the racetrack.

Angela Johnson reported at 5 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, an adult female acquaintance broke a window at her residence in the 500 block of West Midland Street. A criminal summons was mailed to the suspect’s address.

Jennifer Cherry reported at 2:31 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, juveniles painted “rowdy” and a drawing of male genitalia on the back door of her residence in the 2100 block of Wood Street.

Carol Schmidt reported at 2:33 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, an adult male shouted at her and broke the taillight of her vehicle while she was stopped at the intersection of Shelby Road and Roxie Road. The suspect left the scene in a white van.

Christiana Thiele, 46, of Silva was arrested at 10:47 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, during a traffic stop on South Westwood Boulevard. Thiele was booked on charges of possession of amphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released pending review by the prosecutor.

Gary Massey reported at 7:45 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, a neighbor pushed him down when he confronted the neighbor about shooting a dog with a BB gun. Dewey Zitnak, 51, of Poplar Bluff was issued a criminal summons for assault and released at the scene.

Jessica Lewis reported at 8:02 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, someone broke into her residence in the 2000 block of Raulston Street and damaged the exterior and interior doors.

Christina Byars-Cates, 35, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 10:42 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, at Huck’s convenience store at 703 N. Westwood Blvd. Byars-Cates was booked on charges of trespassing, resisting arrest, and assault on a law enforcement officer. She was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Simon Clark, 46, of Kennett was booked at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense and released on bond.

Kevin Perkins, 19, of Malden and Michael Hart, 22, of Poplar Bluff were arrested at 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, during a traffic stop in the 800 block of North Westwood Boulevard. Perkins was booked on a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm and lodged in the Butler County jail. Hart was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for possession of marijuana and released on bond.

Allen Nelson reported at 7:49 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, someone threw a rock through the window of his apartment in the 1100 block of North Main Street.

Kearra Anderson reported at 10:12 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, her ex-boyfriend assaulted her, broke her cell phone, and vandalized her car while she was at a residence in the 100 block of Hampton Court. Efforts to locate the suspect were unsuccessful and the matter was referred to the Butler County prosecutor.

Officers responded at 4:57 a.m. Monday, Sept. 11, to an apartment in the 400 block of Highway 53 for a drug overdose. The victim was reportedly dropped off at his residence by friends after he overdosed. A family member administered two doses of Narcan prior to officer arrival and the victim was transported by ambulance to the emergency room.
