An employee at J.C. Penney at 515 S. Westwood Blvd. reported on Saturday, Aug. 19, a white female stole merchandise from the store. When the employee confronted the suspect outside, she fled the scene on foot, dropping stolen merchandise as she ran. The theft was captured on video.

An employee at J.C. Penney reported on Saturday, Aug. 19, that on Aug. 12, a white female stole a backpack and other merchandise from the store. When the employee confronted the suspect outside, she dropped the backpack and fled the scene on foot. The suspect was identified from surveillance video footage and the matter was referred to the prosecutor.

Lester Tinker, 62, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 8:36 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at his residence in the 2000 block of Schweitzer Drive. Tinker was booked on a charge of fourth-degree domestic assault and lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Fellowship General Baptist Church at 3581 N. Westwood Blvd. reported at 11:18 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, someone broke into the church and stole clothing items.

Kevin Isaac, 49, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 12:58 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, during a traffic stop in the 800 block of Lester Street. Isaac was booked on a Poplar Bluff municipal warrant for failure to appear on a traffic offense and a Butler County warrant for failure to appear on traffic. He was lodged in the Butler County jail.

Officers responded at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, to a residence in the 900 block of Kendall Street for a subject suffering a mental health crisis. The victim was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation.

Maxwell Lewis reported at 1:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, a pistol was stolen from his boat while it was parked in the driveway of his residence in the 2900 block of Bedoll Avenue.

A maroon 2010 Chevrolet Traverse was towed at 2:17 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, from a property in the 900 block of Eve Street after the property owner reported it had been abandoned there since March.

A silver 2012 Ford Focus was towed at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, from a traffic stop on North 10th Street after it was determined the vehicle was not registered and was not insured. The driver, David Huff, 51, of Poplar Bluff, was issued tickets for no insurance and no registration. He was released at the scene.

Rolondia Dyson, 29, of Poplar Bluff was arrested at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, at her residence in the 500 block of West Midland Street. Dyson was booked on a charge of violation of an order of protection and lodged in the Butler County jail.

An employee at Walmart Neighborhood Market at 3001 Oak Grove Road reported at 7:19 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, a white male stole merchandise from the store. A bystander saw the suspect pushing the cart to a car and recorded video of him. The suspect surrendered the cart to the bystander and it was returned to the store. The suspect was identified from the video and the matter was referred to the prosecutor for review.
